Monday January 30, 2006

It has been awhile since I wrote.  Lets see whats new:  Well I was offered a job selling furniture on the 4th of Jan.  They said they needed to hire one or more people so we could all train together they really didn't want to just train one person.  Well that was almost month ago.  I have talked to them but they have yet to hire anyone else to train with me.  Meanwhile my current company has offered me a full time position.  So I had to make a decision on what to do...wait for who knows how long to start training at the new job or start now full time with my current job...after a lot of praying I have decided to stay with my current company.

Lucas as had several interviews so that is good.  He does have a few more lined up so that is encouraging.  I hope he hears something soon.

Other then that nothing is really new with us.  I am working a lot so I am not around to do much more then that.  One thing we have done is to start taking down the wall paper in the upstairs bathroom.  It is one of 9 rooms in the house that has wallpaper.  There is actually only 2 full rooms in the entire house that doesn't have wallpaper even those rooms still have problems because the walls were not correctly repaired before they were painted so we have some work ahead of us.  The wallpaper in the bath is not hard to take down thank goodness but i am afraid of taking down some of the other wall paper because i think so of it has been up for atleast 20+ years.  Those rooms are going to be a joy to take down all that paper.

Well thats the latest update

Thursday January 12, 2006

So I decided since we live so far away from most of our friends now that this was a way to keep you all updated. So here it goes....

So how do I describe our life since moving here... For starters owning a house is great but it also has its responsibilities as well.  I like not having loud, smokey neighbors and there is so much space.  Lucas loves his "man" room aka. the attic.  He has a couch up there that the puppy loves to sleep on. There are windows up there and they are just Buddy's (the puppy) height and he likes to go up there and spy on the neighborhood.

So whats new with us...I am working part-time(about 20+) hours a week at Barnes and Noble.  I love working there.  The customers are great and the people I work with are helpful and great people to work with.  I will soon start selling furniture for a local furniture store.  I have never done sales before so its something new.   We also got a puppy for our annivsary (it was a suprise for me).  I will post pics soon as soon as I get them off the digital camera.

Lucas is keeping busy.  He is looking for a new job.  Happy new year to us!  The company he was employeed with will pay him severence(sp?) pay until the end of Jan but then after that who knows what will happen.  I know God is there and guiding us.  On positive note:  He has had several promising leads but no offers this far.  It is kind of discouraging but I know God has a plan and we just have to keep trusting him.

Thank you to Linda for the package.  Although it took 8 days to get to our house ( thats how slow things are around here) I love the picture frame thing its awesome.  I need some pics of you to put in the frame.

So I am going to tell you all about the area we moved to.  Unlike living near Wright State we live our in the boonies.  Everything in this town besides the only gas station closes at 9pm.  If you want food after 9pm you have to drive atleast 30 mins.  McDonalds, and all 4 pizza shops and subway all close at 9pm and plus most of these places don't even take credit card.  Its that they don't take the cards we carry its that they do not even have machine to process the card.  I feel like at times I have gone back in time.  Every single road around here is falling apart.  One pothole after another and if you know my car it makes driving anywhere tons of fun.  So not only are the roads back people around here can't drive.  While driving to work (30 mins away all back roads) I seem to always get behind these people who think that if there is no posted speed limit you go between 40-45 mph.  So annoying!!!  Another thing that drives me crazy is everyones obsession with who everyone is related to.   Typical small town crap if you ask me.  Why does it matter who married who and all that?  I grew up in a small town (much smaller then this place) so I know about small town drama.  It just gets tiring.  I wonder what people will say about me.  "Kristen Beagle you know she married Lucas. She you use to be a Lapp." The entire conversation will end there since no one in this town knows my family.  Lucas and I just laugh about it since it is so funny how people worry about that around here.

Well I will keep you all updated as much as I can.  If you hear of any jobs in the Dayton area let me know I am looking too just in case.
